Honora O’Neill was classically trained in fine art at the Crawford College, Cork, Ireland before opening her own gallery, The Dillon Gallery, in Dingle.
Her work is an unflinching response to the rugged west Kerry landscape that surrounds her daily life. She is deeply influenced by her life experiences, from the joyous moments to the adversity she has faced, you can see her emotions manifested in the paint on her canvas.
The sea is a constant source of inspiration which she captures with powerful and energetic brushwork mirroring the movement of the waves themselves. Her use of color and light reflects the changeability of the Southwest coast of Ireland.
When she’s not in her studio, Honora can be found riding her horse, walking her dogs, or up the road in Dick Mack’s pub.
